Pollination Attempt (1) {Plant 1}

30/06/07

Four flowers between three to seven days old were self-pollinated this morning. Both the pollinia and anther caps were so tightly attached together that not all the pollinia were successfully detached from the anther caps. Each anther cap had two pollinia attached to it, but only a pair of pollinia from one of the four flowers were successfully poped out of the anther cap using my nails. For each of the other three flowers, only one of the two pollinia was detached from the anther cap; the other pollinium remained stucked in the anther cap.
